Recently a man in West Fargo was arrested on his 14th DUI offense. He pleaded not guilty and is being held in the Cass County jail on $15,000 bond. The toughest penalty we have right now in ND against repeat drunk driving offender is 5 years jail and a $5,000 fine. Is that a tough enough sentence for repeat offender?  A person reaches their 14th DUI arrest, I'm guessing their not getting the message.  I say for each DUI arrest you are issued, the punishment should get more severe. A man robs a house, putting that family at risk and they're sent to jail immediately or a man smokes a joint, hurting nobody but . But a man drinks a 1/5 of whiskey and gets behind the wheel of a vehicle, putting many many others at risk of losing their life, and they get a slap on the hand? Doesn't quite make sense if you ask me!!
