One thing you'll notice as soon as you drive on the campus at UTTC for the 47th Annual International Powwow are the various levels of security.

With the current affairs and controversy with the Dakota Access Pipeline, powwow officials wanted to ensure this years festival is safe and still fun.

There are many visitors in town for the 47th Annual International Powwow. The food courts are filled with the aroma of various items and, on the outskirts of the circle, you'll find one-of-a-kind authentic crafts, most of which are made on site.

There is the exchange and display of the Native American culture. This a history you can not learn from any book or movie. This is Native culture you can hear, touch and taste.

The festival continues through Sunday on the campus of United Tribes Technical College.
