Tax time and the deadline is coming up, even though the deadline is extended to April 17th, Tuesday, many people have still a lot of work to do before tax day deadline.

According to GoBankingRates.com, the people that have not filed their taxes by this date are the people that most likely have taxes to pay or people that are just too busy to file.

GBR examined several factors in every state to determine the highest and lowest states that pay taxes. Some of the factors examined was income taxes, property taxes, sales taxes and gas taxes.

The states lucky enough to pay the lowest taxes are West Virginia: $6,837.16 followed by Montana, Mississippi, Kentucky and Arkansas.

The highest states are Washington, California, New Jersey, New York and Illinois. The highest estimate is $19,977.

North Dakota ranks at # 25 at an average of $12,034.
