On April 7, Neil was at the Aria Hotel with actor Nicolas Cage and comedian Carrot Top when a female fan reportedly approached Cage for his autograph. Neil allegedly got behind the woman, grabbed her hair and pulled her to the ground. At the time, sources close to Neil insisted that he was merely trying to push past her because she was demonstrating “very aggressive behavior.”
As seen above, footage of Cage attempting to calm and restrain Neil outside the hotel following the incident emerged on YouTube the following day. The singer was charged with misdemeanor battery a few days later. He entered a not guilty plea in July, and then was granted a request to postpone the trial from its originally scheduled September date until today.
The unnamed woman has also filed a civil suit against Neil as a result of the altercation, and that case is still pending. The singer played his last show as a member of Motley Crue on Dec. 31. The End, a concert film from that farewell performance, will hit stores on Nov. 4. He is currently touring as a solo artist.
