The University of North Dakota will join NDSU and countless other schools in offering all of their athletes full cost of attendance scholarships.

The scholarships, which were recently approved by the NCAA, give school athletes money to cover items beyond books, tuition, and room and board, according to InForum.

These scholarships will be awarded to all scholarship athletes beginning in 2016-17.

When the scholarship was first announced, it was expected that UND would offer it to men's and women's hockey players only, so it's somewhat surprising that the school is offering it to all athletes. The school began giving hockey players the full-cost-of-attendance scholarship this season.

InForum believes that the scholarships will cost $3,400 per athlete. Those students that are not on full scholarships will get a percentage, based on how much of a percentage of scholarship they're on.
