Tornado Watch Issued for Bismarck-Mandan and Surrounding Areas

The National Weather Service in Bismarck has issued a tornado warning for Bismarck, Mandan, and the surrounding areas through 11 p.m. tonight.

Counties that are a part of the tornado watch include Adams, Benson, Billings, Bottineau, Bowman, Burke, Burleigh, Dickey, Divide, Dunn, Eddy, Emmons, Foster, Golden Valley, Grant, Hettinger, Kidder, LaMoure, Logan, McHenry, McIntosh, McKenzie, McLean, Mercer, Morton, Mountrail, Oliver, Pierce, Renville, Rolette, Sheridan, Sioux, Slope, Stark, Stutsman, Towner, Ward, Wells, and Williams.

A tornado watch is issued when conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms, which could produce tornados.
