Top Five Classic Rock Covers of Songs by The Beatles
With Paul McCartney set to hit the FargoDome this Saturday night, July 12th, I figured now would be the perfect time to put together a list of my five favorite classic rock covers of songs by The Beatles.

Jeff Beck - 'A Day in the Life'
Beck has been covering 'A Day in the Life' as an instrumental for years, which definitely puts a different spin on the song.
- 4
Frank Zappa - 'I Am the Walrus'
Zappa covered 'I Am The Walrus' live and, if I have the chance to include Zappa in a list, I'm going to.
- 3
Elton John - 'Lucy in the Sky Diamonds'
Quite possibly my favorite tune from The Beatles, Elton John released his version in 1974. It peaked at #10 in the U.K. and spent 10 weeks on the charts.

U2 - 'Helter Skelter'
U2 released their live version of this tune in 1988, a few years after Charles Manson claimed the song was a part of The Beatles 'coded prophecy of an apocalyptic war'.

Aerosmith - 'Come Together'
Released on the 1978 soundtrack to the film Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Aerosmith's version began one of the most successful covers of a Beatles tune ever.
