A Fargo native was recently hospitalized after she snuck into the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, in Omaha, NE, reached into a cage, and was subsequently bitten by a three-legged tiger.

The story gained national attention, according to InForum, after 33-year old Jacqueline Eide was hospitalized early Sunday morning, November 1st, because of the bite.

Police were called to the hospital to assist with an unruly patient, who happened to be Eide.

After police learned what had happened, Eide was charged with criminal trespass.

Omaha Police released the following statement, in an attempt to deter other zoo patrons from trying to 'pet' the animals:

Just in case you had any doubt ... If you pet a tiger you will most likely get bitten.

According to InForum, Eide's Facebook page indicated that she was born and raised in Fargo-Moorhead.
