According to a news release sent out Friday morning (June 22nd), the boil order for the City of Lincoln has been lifted.

The boil order had previously gone into effect on Wednesday (June 20th) after the water supply in a Lincoln home test positive for E. coli bacteria. According to U.S. News & World Report, nearly 1,300 home were affected by the boil advisory.

The boil order has now been lifted as follow-up samples sent to state Department of Health's lab were satisfactory. At this time, it is no longer necessary to boil water or use bottled water. Nine different locations in Lincoln were tested in the new samples sent to the state Health Department.

Next week, a water inspector will be in Lincoln to further investigate the source of contamination throughout the city.

For further questions or information on the lifted boil order, you can contact the City of Lincoln at 701-258-7969.
