Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Joan Jett's recent induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame gave fans something to cheer about while marking a small step toward redressing the massive gender imbalance among inductees.

The 2015 nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame were announced earlier today (Oct. 9th) and, while it's great that artists like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Joan Jett will have the chance to get in, I can't help but notice a few artists that are still missing.

The place of honor reserved for Alan Freed's ashes at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is being taken away, and the legendary DJ's surviving family members aren't happy about it.

Here we are now! Entertain us! And for during the late '80s and early '90s that's exactly what Nirvana did. The band's meteoric rise to fame was saluted on Thursday night (April 10)  as they were officially inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
