More than 200 officers cleared out the campsite at the DAPL protest area that has been the site of national attention for over 8 months.

Now the cleanup crews have full access to the campsite to start the long process of cleaning the grounds before the spring floods. Officials seems relieved this job was complete after 2 p.m., Thursday (Feb 23) ending the occupation on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers land.

Officers in riot gear and military vehicles arrested 46 people on the final sweep.

In total, the force included over 200 law enforcement officers and close to 20 North Dakota National Guard members, and Humvees along with other military vehicles including law enforcement vehicles.
