Families looking for something different to do this Halloween season were treated to a fun and unique experience at the second annual 'Zoo Boo' at the Dakota Zoo on Saturday afternoon. From 1-4pm, kids of all ages walked through the zoo grounds to get treats (and some tricks!) from local businesses. 'Superhero' seemed to be the theme this year, as Spiderman, The Incredibles, Batman and other masked avengers roamed throughout the zoo.

In only its second year, the number of local sponsors doubled and the crowd size swelled to more than twice the size of the previous year. With pocket-friendly prices ($3 for kids, $1 for adults) and a unique atmosphere, the event is destined to grow.

Terry Lincoln, Zoo Director, describes the inspiration behind the event:

Zoo Boo is an excellent opportunity to celebrate Halloween in a safe, enjoyable and supervised environment. The money raised at this fundraiser will help us care for the zoo collection through the long winter months.

Can't wait to see what next year brings. Take a look at some of our pictures from the fun event!
