Anyone who follows the NFL knows the Seattle Seahawks are a pretty big deal these days. But few people know the inner-workings of the organization like this special guest, who will be coming to Bismarck-Mandan at the end of April.

From his days as a skinny sports journalist at USC, to walk-on wide receiver for the powerhouse football program (after having not played football since 5th grade) to becoming the personal assistant of Pete Carroll, head coach of the Seattle Seahawks, Ben Malcolmson has had an unlikely ride to the NFL.

Malcolmson shocked the collegiate football world when he jokingly tried out for the USC Trojans back in 2006 and ended up making the team. While he only made it to the field for one play, he struck a chord with then-head coach Pete Carroll. The two have shared a unique relationship ever since, culminating in Malcolmson’s jump to the NFL to become Carroll’s personal assistant.

Now he wants to share the uniqueness of his personal journey with Bismarck-Mandan. Malcolmson will be speaking at New Song Church in Bismarck, located at 3200 N 11th St, the weekend of April 25. While people are encouraged to attend whenever they can, he’ll be speaking at the following times:

  • Saturday, April 25, 1:00-2:30: This session will be geared more towards students as Ben shares stories from his time spent at USC and making the jump to the NFL
  • Saturday, April 25, 3:30-4:30: This session is geared towards business leaders
  • Sunday, April 26, 9:30 & 11:15: Ben will be speaking at New Song’s regular Sunday morning services

Ben has an improbable and exciting story to share – one that’s too good to miss.
