Increasing oil prices have inflated gas prices as the Bismarck area is paying the highest average gas price in North Dakota right now.

According to AAA, the national average at the gas pump is at $2.53 per gallon. This is up 32 cents from last year at this time when it the national average was $2.21 per gallon. In North Dakota, the statewide average is currently $2.48, which is 26 cents higher than the $2.22 price from a year ago at this time.

The average gas price in Bismarck is currently $2.52 per gallon, which is higher than other metro areas across the state, including Grand Forks at $2.51, and Fargo at $2.33 per gallon.

AAA expects prices to drop as there is less demand anticipated as winter hits.

According to GasBuddy, the lowest price for gas in the Bismarck metro area is at Sam's Club at 2821 Rock Island Place near Bismarck Expressway where gas is currently $2.44 per gallon.
