There was a sighting yesterday in North Bismarck.

Mountain Lions are common in the state but outside of a sighting in Double Ditch a couple of months ago, there hasn't been one sighted near the city until yesterday.

According to KFYR TV News:

BISMARCK, N.D. - There has been a possible mountain lion sighting in northeast Bismarck.

Bismarck police responded to a call this afternoon from a man who said he saw what he believed to be a mountain lion just off of East Calgary Avenue near Johnny Gisi Memorial Park. He told police the animal was in a coulee.

Police and crews from Game and Fish searched the area, but didn't find anything.

Residents are encouraged to be aware of their surroundings, but police say there is no immediate danger.

That is crazy to think that one would be so close to a residential area. The police and Game and Fish seem to have the situation under control though. They have the extensive experience so hopefully, they're right.
