Heitkamp To Run Again

Senator Heidi Heoitkamp has announced that she is running for re-election.

The senator made the announcement Wednesday morning on the "News and Views" talk show hosted by her brother Joel Heitkamp, and heard in Bismarck-Mandan here on SuperTalk 1270. The show originates from flagship station KFGO Radio in Fargo.

Senator Heitkamp has enjoyed some national attention of late after meeting with President Donald trump to discuss tax reform.She traveled with the president on his trip to Mandan last week.

"We had a good discussion and I reinforced that any tax reform bill must support working families and family farmers so they aren’t burdened with debt," the senator said, "and it must stand up for retirees who want to live their remaining years with dignity while also simplifying the tax code and lowering compliance burdens."

KFGO notes that Ms. Heitkamp is among 10 democrats in states the president carried who are up for re-election in 2018.
