Five IPAs Brewed in North Dakota to Help You Celebrate National IPA Day

Located in downtown Bismarck, Laughing Sun Brewing Company's signature beer is their Feast Like A Sultan IPA. Here's how they describe it, courtesy of LaughingSunBrewing.com: 'Our India Pale Ale takes it name from the exotic oils that might have been available to a Sultan of early trade routes.  Made from a combination of American 2-Row barley, Crystal and Munich malts, this IPA is well balanced with grapefruit and passion fruit citrus flavors and aromas.  American Ale yeast provides a clean background for the hops to stand out in this ale.'

Named for the iconic scene in the movie 'Fargo,' Fargo Brewing Company's Wood Chipper is one of their most popular brews: 'This classic American IPA showcases an aromatic, bold hop flavor. Horizon hops and oats provide a sleek, velvety body and balanced bitterness while two pounds per barrel of dry hopping offer initial waves of citrus and pine. We’d give our left foot for another pint!'

Brewed in Mandan, Bird Dog Brewing describes their Rabbit Hunt IPA as perfectly 'hoppy.' Bird Dog Brewing's brews are available at Main Street Drive-Thru Liquor, in Mandan, and 40 Steak and Seafood, in Bismarck.

Another Mandan brewery, Buffalo Commons blends Summit, American Goldings, and Glacier hops to create their Northern Border Pale Ale. You can try Northern Border and the other Buffalo Commons brews at their tap room, located at 2307 Memorial Hwy in Mandan.

Minot's Souris River Brewing brews three IPAs, including the Black JunIPA, which is a black IPA with juniper berries added to the boil kettle towards the end of the brew. They also have the Trestle Triple IPA and the FFOK IPA.
