There's a lot of options when it comes to eating in Bismarck-Mandan. Some restaurants you pass by and never stop in.

Fortunately enough people stop in. That's why they're still in business. But you need to join in on the fun and and stop ignoring these five restaurants:

  • Little Cottage Cafe

    2513 East Main Ave, Bismarck

The Little Cottage Cafe is right next to one of Bisman's favorite drive thru's: Big Boy. The Little Cottage Cafe is that quintessential 'hole-in-the-wall' style diner.

We admit, it is super tiny in there. It's narrow. There's not a lot of tables. But if you want that small-town almost truck-stop style diner feel, this is it. The staff is quick and friendly and the food is absolutely delicious.

Google reviewers give the restaurant 4.4 out of 5 stars. It has 4.6 stars from reviews on Facebook.

  • Northside Market

    2210 North 12th Street, Bismarck

This place is easy to miss. It's part of the Shell gas station in North Bismarck. Behind the pumps is your typical gas station convenience store but inside that same building is also a delicious sandwich shop.

They'll make you fresh sliders, wraps and more and if you're in a hurry they have pre made (but fresh) sandwiches for you to just grab and go.

The sandwiches are truly incredible and you would never expect it from a place just feet from people pumping gas into their cars.

On Facebook, reviewers give it a 4.8 out of 5 stars.

  • Country House Deli

    1045 E. Insterstate Ave, Bismarck

The Country House Deli is hidden in the North side of Bismarck behind China Star and adjacent to Obrian's Tavern.

But this is another place that will make you fresh delicious sandwiches with fresh sides available too such as macaroni salad.

There's a large variety and all the sandwiches have fun names.

Reviewers on Facebook give the deli 4.6 out of 5 stars.

  • Taylor Made in Mandan

    316 West Main Street, Mandan

Recently named the best BBQ in North Dakota, this place is brand new in Mandan. This restaurant is the outlier on our list because it is new and it is easy to miss new restaurants.

But because of the high acclaim this restaurant has received in such a short time, it's worth making sure you get over there.

It wasn't named the best BBQ for no reason but we suggest getting to the restaurant as early in the day as possible. They remain open until they run out of food and it happens often. Or sometimes, you may get there and maybe they ran out of brisket but still have pork. That means you're 'stuck' eating pork. But everything is amazing so no choice is a bad choice.

It's just that you'll have more choices, the earlier you arrive.

The restaurant has a 4.9 out of 5 stars from Facebook reviewers.

  • Yim Siam Thai

    313 North 1st Street, Bismarck

Well if you like Thai food, this is the place in Bismarck to try it out. We've never been to Thailand so we can't truly speak to its authenticity but most people seem to agree that it's the best Thai around.

The Facebook reviews say it all. The restaurant has only 5 star reviews. That's right: 5 stars out of 5 stars. The highest scoring restaurant on our list.
