Tornadoes alone are scary, but a FIRE tornado?! No, thanks.

While a fire tornado may sound like the subject of an upcoming SyFy film, it is actually a real phenomenon and they're actually known as dust devils:

A dust devil is a strong, well-formed, and relatively long-lived whirlwind, ranging from small (half a meter wide and a few meters tall) to large (more than 10 meters wide and more than 1000 meters tall). The primary vertical motion is upward. Dust devils are usually harmless, but can on rare occasions grow large enough to pose a threat to both people and property.

This particular dust devil, caught on tape by firefighter Thomas Rogers, actually drew the fire into it, creating the "fire-nado".

Call them whatever you want, just know that I never want to see one of these in real life.
