I believe it was just last week that I wrote about the dog pushing his wheelchair-bound owner through flood waters, and here we are again, with another amazing dog story.

According to the YouTube video, Kermie, an 11-year old beagle/chow mix, was diagnosed with oral melanoma a short time after her owner, Eric Ralston, was deployed overseas. Eric's family didn't think there was going to be a chance for Kermie to ever see Eric again because he was set to be deployed for eight months and they just didn't expect Kermie to hang on that long. But, hang on she did.

The above video is Eric's homecoming, which Kermie lived to see. Every time I see one of these videos with a dog racing into its owners arms, I get a bit teary eyed, especially when it involves a military man or woman. The connection between an owner and their dog is, obviously, a very strong one.

Though Kermie lived to see Eric's homecoming, she succumbed to cancer in February of this year.
