Collections are underway for the 2015 Christmas Playpen with the Salvation Army. Christmas Playpen is a program where gently used toys and bicycles are collected and then repaired by prison inmates and given to the Salvation Army for children in need.

If you have a donation, drop off any gently used toys and bikes at the Go Minis storage unit of Dan's Supermarket's south location parking lot, 835 South Washington Street.

Used toys collected will be taken to the Missouri River Correctional Center and the Women's Correctional Center for repairs and then delivered to the Salvation Army for disbursement at the Joy Shop.

Major Sally Sell of the Salvation Army said the program will help about 500 children this holiday season and donations at Dan's South will be taken through November 29th 2015.

This is a great program to help underprivileged children in our area, Salvation Army is also looking for cash donations and coats for the season.

Send cash or check donations to the Bismarck Tribune, addressed: The Christmas Playpen c/o Julie Ramos Lagos, P.O. Box 5516, Bismarck, N.D., 58506.
