Surprise, surprise! (It's not a surprise, really) Carson Wentz tops the list of the top ten players from 2016's NFL Draft, according to NFL.com.

Given his stellar play in the 2017 regular season was likely to allow him to run away with the MVP award before a season-ending injury forced him to miss the last three games, Carson Wentz was a shoe-in at this point in his career to top the list of fellow draftees from the 2016 NFL Draft.

NFL.com's David Carr picked the talented list and had this to say about Wentz claiming the top spot:

Wentz is the top player from the 2016 draft class based on what I saw when he was healthy. Even with the 2017 injury to his knee, Wentz's game shouldn't be hindered in 2018. I'm a little concerned about whether he'll get the reps he needs to be sharp for the start of the season, based on recovery updates, but he deserves to be in this spot heading into Year 3.

However, that list isn't exactly full of slouches. Looking at the players falling beneath Wentz on the list, you can instantly see that this was one of the strongest draft classes in recent years. Especially since you might notice that several of those players have made an impact, not just with their team, but are players that need to be game planned around. The full list is as follows:

  1. Carson Wentz, QB, Philadelphia Eagles
  2. Jalen Ramsey, CB, Jacksonville Jaguars
  3. Tyreek Hill, RB, Kansas City Chiefs
  4. Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Dallas Cowboys
  5. Michael Thomas, WR, New Orleans Saints
  6. Jared Goff, QB, Los Angeles Rams
  7. Joey Bosa, DE, Los Angeles Chargers
  8. Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas Cowboys
  9. Jordan Howard, RB, Chicago Bears
  10. Kevin Byard, S, Tennessee Titans

The talent from that list and draft class in its entirety should tell you what an accomplishment it is to be at the top of that list. And regardless of who you're rooting for in the league, the impact on the NFL by the draft class of 2016 has most certainly been felt.
