It's becoming a continuous trend for Carson Wentz to set career-bests in just his second year in the NFL, but he does so on a big stage; against Washington on Monday Night Football.

Carson Wentz threw for 268 yards and a career-best 4 touchdowns on 17 of 25 passing, while also running for 64 yards in leading the Philadelphia Eagles to their league best sixth win as they extended their lead in the NFC East.

The first quarter saw the Eagles struggle while Washington drove down in their first possession and kicked a 27-yard chip-shot field goal to take a 3-0 lead. The Eagles would tie it up early in the second quarter while Wentz was struggling early on.

After the Redskins went ahead on a Chris Thompson 7-yard touchdown pass from Kirk Cousins, Wentz went to work and delivered a long 64-yard touchdown pass to Mack Hollins to tie the game at 10-10 with just over 3 minutes left in the first half. After getting the ball back with just under two minutes left in the half, Wentz drove the Eagles down the field before they scored on a 4-yard touchdown pass from Wentz to Zach Ertz to go up 17-10 at the half.

The Eagles wouldn't stop in the second half. In the third quarter, Wentz was in the midst of being hit by two Redskins defensive linemen while throwing a fade to Corey Clement on a 9-yard touchdown pass to give the Eagles a 24-10 lead and put them in control the rest of the way.

Just before the end of the third quarter, Cousins hit Jordan Reed on a 5-yard pass to cut the lead to 24-17. On the Eagles next possession, Wentz drove the Eagles down on a 75-yard drive and hit Nelson Agholor on a 3rd and goal, 10-yard touchdown pass to put the Eagles up 31-17 for his fourth touchdown pass.

Minutes later, Corey Graham picked off a Cousins pass to put the Eagles in great field position, before settling for a field goal after three straight runs to take time of the clock. Jake Elliott put the 42-yard field goal through to make it 34-17 with just over six minutes to go. Reed would catch another TD pass from Cousins with just over three minutes left to make it 34-24, but that's as close as the Redskins would get.

Cousins was 30 of 40 for 303 yards, 3 TDs and an interception.

The Eagles are now 6-1 with the best record in the NFC. They'll be at home to take on San Francisco next Sunday (October 29) at noon.
