UPDATE: more counties are considering a burn ban; read abut it here from the Tribune.

More than half of North Dakota is in the “extreme” category of the fire danger index - including Morton County, which declared a "burn ban" Friday.  Burleigh and Emmons Counties have also issued burning restrictions.

A burn ban prohibits open fires including garbage/pit burning, campfires, charcoal grills and burning of farmland, cropland or ditches.
