The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning and winter weather advisory for the Bismarck-Mandan area.

The winter weather advisory is in effect until 5 p.m. CST Monday, December 5th. The blizzard warning is in effect until 6 p.m. CST Tuesday, December 6th.

Snowfall accumulations are expected to be between 5 to 9 inches.

If possible, do not travel as there will be dangerous traveling conditions with wind gusts up to 50 MPH and near zero visibility with possible whiteout conditions. Visibility will be worse in rural areas. Wind chill is expected to be below zero Tuesday, December 6th.
