Every state has a certain taste that's associated with it. In Maine, it's lobster, while the 'Juicy Lucy' is most associated with Minnesota. So, what taste is big in North Dakota? Bison, of course.

The folks over at Foursquare teamed up with MapBox to put together an interactive map, listing every state's most popular taste. Here's how they put it all together:

Foursquare’s data science team identified the singular tastes of all 50 states and D.C., using a mix of data sets (menus, tips, ratings, and more) and normalizing for size against other states. Then the editorial team reviewed the data and selected the winning taste that is most special and unique to each state. The percentage equals the affinity for that taste over the national average. Also included are the 50 best places in each state for that taste.

According to the map, North Dakotan's crave bison 80% more than any other state, leading it to be named the most popular taste in the Peace Garden State.

They also list some of the best places to get bison in North Dakota, including locations in Fargo, Jamestown, and Grand Forks.

There are a few pretty interesting entries on the map, as well. In Nevada, for example, bottle service is the most popular taste, though I doubt that has anything to do with the people of Nevada enjoying it. It does, however, probably have something to do with Las Vegas and people's penchant for wanting to 'do it big' while they visit.

Check out the map HERE and see if you agree or disagree with each state's most popular taste.
