Bismarck is doing really well for grads and job seekers.

The personal finance site Cardrates.com released a study on the biggest college towns that were favorable to recent graduates and job seekers alike. Bismarck was on the list.

Some of the findings include:

  • Highest employment growth YOY at 12.20%
  • Cost of living 3% below the national average
  • Second-highest median household income on this list at $60,320, 4.48% above the national average

Here is how they came to this result in the study according to cardrates.com ;

We looked at population growth over seven years, the education level of the locals, economic growth and cost of living compared to the national average, and job opportunities throughout the US to determine the college towns that netted the highest positive results in these combined categories to determine 2018’s Booming College Towns.

Sources include Data USA, Pay scale, TripAdvisor, U.S. News & World Report, Bureau of Labor Statistics, and the United States Census Bureau.

This is great news... but I have to admit that I am a little mixed about it. When the nation sees how good we're doing, I'm afraid they all of a sudden want to move here.

I guess that is a good problem to have.
