You definitely can't tell from the temperatures this week, but fall will be here before you know it. Some Bismarck area pools are shutting things down as early as this coming weekend.

The first to close will be Wachter Aquatic Complex at 205 Reno Avenue. Their Friday (August 10th) swim session will be their last for the summer. It will end at 7 p.m.

However, on Saturday (August 11th), Bismarck Parks & Rec will host the 'Pool Pooch Party,' which is a dogs-only swim event from noon until 2 p.m. Dogs weighing less than 30 pounds may swim for the first hour while the second hour will be for dogs weighing 30 pounds or more. It's free to attend the event, but donations are encouraged to help with improvements at the Century Bark Park.

Another Bismarck area pool will close this weekend at Elks Aquatic Center located at 321 W. Broadway Ave. That pool will close down for the season at 7 p.m. on Sunday (August 12th).

The Hillside Aquatic Complex will be open for one more week. It will close on Sunday (August 19th) at 7 p.m.

Jump in the pool while you can over the next week or two. Based on the forecasted temperatures during that time, the weather looks like getting in the pool will be much needed.
