It's not often that you have the chance to see a Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Famer on-stage, let alone an 87-year old Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Famer but, last night, Bismarck had that opportunity as blues legend B.B. King took the stage at the Bismarck Civic Center!

The Levee opened the show with a great set of original North Dakota blues. You can find out more about them at their Facebook page HERE.

Before King even took the stage, his band jammed out for a bit, shining the spotlight on each instrument and musician that was to be represented that night. Once B.B. took the stage, he spent a few minutes introducing each band member and telling little stories about each one. You could tell that B.B. was ready to have some fun.

The band rocked through classics like "The Thrill is Gone", "You Are My Sunshine", and "When the Saints Go Marching In" to a crowd that loved every second of it. Though the show seemed short, the crowd had absolutely no problem with that as they rushed the stage at the end of the set to try and shake hands with the legend.

My only real gripe with the show was when audience members continuously walked right up to the stage to photograph King and his band. I understand that this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity but, when you start interrupting the show to get a picture...it's time to stop. Have courtesy for both the artist and the audience and stay in your seat. If getting a picture of B.B. was that important to you, you should have purchased a seat closer to the action.

All in all, B.B. King put on one of the more fun shows I've had the chance to see. Today's musicians could learn a thing or two from B.B. Maybe if they saw him perform just once, the music industry wouldn't be struggling the way it is now.
