On this day in rock history, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant gathered for No Quarter, a celebrated concert movie reunion. Bruce Springsteen released his long-awaited breakthrough album, while Boston roared out to one of the most amazing beginnings in music history.

Also, Alice Cooper offered one his more painful album titles, while Metallica released the last project before radically reworking their early approach to music making. Guns N’ Roses whittled down a huge project, while Eric Clapton pulled the plug and revitalized his career.
