It wasn't long ago that one food publication picked the best burger in North Dakota, but The Harris Poll says otherwise. They claim to have picked America's 'Best Burger' and it's also here in Bismarck.

A little over a month ago, The Daily Meal picked the best burger in every state and said that in North Dakota, it was JL Beers. However, The Harris Poll has released what they say is 'America's Burger Brand of the Year' (America's best burger). For the second straight year, the analytics firm picked Five Guys as the best burger in America.

Five Guys beat out a number of worthy burger competitors, including a former champion from the poll, the popular west-coast chain In-N-Out. Other burgers that were beaten out by Five Guys were Burger King, DQ, Carl's Jr. (Hardee's), Jack in the Box, McDonald's, White Castle, Sonic, Wendy's, Whataburger, and Shake Shack.

So, wait, what is the best burger in North Dakota then? Did The Daily Meal get it right the first time with JL Beers, or is Five Guys truly the dominant force here? They're both in Bismarck, so really, we get the best of both worlds.

Just know this, we have a pretty solid selection of good burgers here, Bismarck, and that's a pretty awesome problem to have.
